Tech-Etch introduces new SlimShield, a low-profile, two-piece board level shielding line with a dimpled cover that snaps into etched holes on the fence and offers shield heights as low as to .060”. The photo etching process provides complete design freedom and fast delivery. Standard dimple tooling offers variable dimple location with excellent cover retention at very low cost. There is no tooling cost on standard two-piece designs. An optional flange for added rigidity is available on larger fence designs. Multi-cavity designs are achieved by incorporating internal fences enabling multiple components to be shielded with the same part. Mounting pins are offered in any configuration. There is no additional cost for holes and slots for heat dissipation, as well as logos and part numbers. Plymouth, MA....Tech-Etch has introduced a new Continuous Integrated Gasket for shielding honeycomb vents that offers better performance, reduced cost and the fastest production time. Continuous lengths of the high-performance BeCu gaskets are mechanically installed under the inner perimeter of the vent’s aluminum extrusion frame. No tooling is required to manufacture and attach the gasket to the honeycomb vents, resulting in reduced cost. After completion, the entire vent system is plated as one piece, so all honeycomb cells, the BeCu integrated gaskets as well as the frame are joined to increase conductivity and shielding effectiveness. The new gaskets are in stock and the efficient mechanical production method has reduced lead times.
